Digital transformation and what Aasted is offering today

There is no doubt that the coronavirus outbreak has changed the buying habits of consumers and the way institutions do business. The services that we can use without leaving our homes continue to grow exponentially every day.

Those practicing self-isolation or social distancing are increasingly drawn toward products and services being offered. Like many other companies Aasted has had to buckle down and come up with creative ways to break through the noise and to try to remain at our position in the service we provide.

Adapting to digital communication

While working from home has become an option, there has still been some sort of mental barrier - being ‘seen’ in real life is what counts. Well, not anymore. We were forced to adapt and take advantage of the opportunities of living in a digital world.

Aasted employees made a seamless transition towards virtual and digital tools. We continuously urge customers, suppliers and partners, to make use of the digital channels, as dealing with their challenges and business opportunities online is becoming a new normal. While consultations online will not replace the face-to- face meetings, it accelerated the adoption for the long run. It would be surprising if we all just would go back to mass scale in person.


Digital brings new possibilities

Being a manufacturing business, we had to actively find new ways doing business and take proactive measures to offer support to our customers. While Aasted Customer Support team were already available 24/7, the team was also backed up with proper support to ensure fast responses and close coordination with relevant functions in Aasted. Besides, Aasted I&C team have started offering commissioning of tempering machines online. This new development opens a prospect for a complete new digital product that has not been in the plans before. Not only does this makes us more effective, it saves our customers the transportation and accommodation costs they would otherwise have to pay, it is also better for the environment.

Aasted Technology Center also had to rethink how we can continue to help customers get acquainted with our machines through using their own products. We are now able to conduct certain tests through video shared with the customers.


Being online has never been as important as it is today

There is no doubt that the lifestyle of people and organizations has changed, but there are two sides to every coin. This particular change can teach us lessons, experiences and habits that are developing us into the future – when digital is no longer just a means of hiding out from a virus, but a means of tapping into a wider range of commerce modes, with a bigger range of partners all over the globe.
